MFA Thesis: Planetopia

My MFA Thesis project was a book and game geared towards getting kids excited about going outside and exploring the natural world around them. The first book focused on San Francisco Bay Area ecosystems, and strived to spark a passion for the environment in elementary school students. The scope of the project included all branding, design, copywriting and illustration. The link to the process book gives all of the background information on the development of the thesis as well as samples of each deliverable.

This pocket-sized book was completed during my MFA program at the Academy of Art University. The project included designing and illustrating a guide to Bay Area plants and trees.

This book was also completed during my MFA program. The book documented the goings-on of our local dog park and presented the characters in a quirky, scientific style.

Brochure Design: Castilleja

This large-format admissions brochure for an all-girls middle and high school was designed while at LOOK Agency. In order to dispel common misconceptions about all-girls schools, we tapped into the student body to give us their thoughts on what “Casti is.” The brochure layered oversize pictures with bold type and infographics to create an engaging portrait of the school.
